HOW IT STARTED
Since 2018, Irish 31’s iCare Foundation (501c3) and the Cheers to Public Service initiative have recognized 2,019 educators working tirelessly in our Hillsborough and Pasco county school districts. Of those 2,019 teachers nominated and publicly recognized by the iCare Foundation, 150 have been awarded with $1,000 each, for a total giveback to date of $150,000!
Cheers to our Past Winners!
Our Cheers to Public Service check presentation celebrations are by far our favorite part of the program! Once our winners have been announced, we invite them to attend a celebration in their honor at Irish 31. They are encouraged to bring along friends, family, students, peers and together, we recognize the extraordinary impact they have had on our youth, the significant contributions that they have made in our communities, and the infinite appreciation we have for their passion and commitment. We then present them each with a check for $1000 and special gifts from our Pillar Partners!

Over the years, the Cheers to Public Service program has proven to fulfill two basic needs.
For those submitting nominations, it fulfills the need to show appreciation to the dedicated civil servants that have an immeasurable impact on our youth.
For the nominees, it fulfills the basic need to
feel appreciated for doing a job that while personally rewarding, is rarely recognized or publicly applauded.

The fulfillment of these basic needs serves as the heartbeat and driving force of the Cheers to Public Service program and is the ‘WHY’ behind our desire to expand into more districts as soon as resources will allow.

We showed the community that we were truly listening, carefully selecting our winners based on the positive impact that they were having on our youth, and gradually the nominations grew lengthier, more personal, more heartfelt.
