Elizabeth Glover

Elizabeth Glover is an amazing educator for the students at Wharton HS that goes beyond academics. Glover spent her life overseas as her father was a diplomat in Egypt, Syria, Zaire (DRC) and Belgium. Her experiences can often be heard in her classroom about developing countries in Advanced Placement Human Geography or foreign relation policies of American Embassies in her United States Government class. Recently one of her students traveled to Dubai and upon her return, she expressed how much she had learned and unknowingly had deeper understanding of international human interaction. Glover serves as the Student Government Sponsor in which she coordinates events such as Homecoming, Kindness Week, Freshman Orientation, Pep Rallies, College Awareness Week, Staff Appreciations and Relay for Life team. She is also the Senior Class advisor organizing Prom, Grad Bash and other memorable activities for Seniors. In December, she organized a winter festival for 600 elementary students from low income families in which the high school students entertained with crafts and games. One of the chaperones thanked Glover as this would be their only celebration of Christmas. In the community Glover serves as an Assistant Scout Master of our local Boy Scout Troop guiding many of Wharton’s students along their path to Eagle Scout. Glover has a true impact on the lives of students at Wharton HS and receiving this award would be a testament to her humble dedication as an educator and role model.
